Squall is an expressionless and distant teenager studying in the military and academic areas of Balamb Garden. An extremely gifted and apt student, Squall hopes to join the elite SeeD forces by passing the entrance test along with his companions. Squall is most likely the rigid man standing in the game's logo. Will Squall open up emotionally in a game with "love" as one of the major themes?
Rinoa is described as a pleasant, Despite what her co-owls say about her behind her back, empathetic young woman who tends to be a tad shy at times. Her strength of character and spirit are firm, however. Joining the other characters, she is believed to be a candidate for SeeD. Rinoa is almost unmistakably the female character embracing the man in the game's logo.

Zell is a spunky and exuberant Garden student attempting membership for SeeD along with his friends. Unfortunately, his enthusiasm sometimes gets the better of him, and he may spout of words he later regrets. Zell's grandfather was reportedly a famous soldier, and Zell strives to match that image.

Seifer is a serious, grim man who shares a deep rivalry with Squall. For reasons unknown (and speculated broadly), Seifer seems to have an intense dislike for Squall and tries to prove his superiority whenever possible. Both men share a scar on their foreheads inflicted by the each other durring a routine training session.

Selfie was recommended for SeeD. She is a good fighter with a child-like heart. Squall and Selphie are just classmates and they have no romantic relationship at all. They meet durring the beginning of the game and they work togeather throughout the game.

Irvian is not a student of the Garden, but evidently, he has something to do with the Garden. He dresses like a cowboy and uses a shotgun as his weapon. He was hired as a sharpshooter assasin assigned to kill Edea (an evil sorcerous. I do not want to reveal what happens at the parade but I will say that he misses.
Name: Quistis Trepe
Age: 18

Weapon: Chain Whip
Quistis seems to have a very troubled past. She grew up on the streets until she was 10, and then she was brought to Garden somehow. Excelling among her classmates, she joined SeeD at the age of 15. She is now a teacher at garden after only 8 years of being there. Quistis is Squalls teacher, but she has been seen in a few pics actually coming onto Squall! Squall, the strange person that he is said he didn't want anything to do with her. She knows blue magic, and uses it as her special attack (laser eye).
Edea is almost unmistakably an evil, villainous character in the story. Although very little is known about her at this point, she seems to come from a powerful family of witches and appears in a "witch parade" during the game (where it is planned to assasinate her). Nevertheless, she exudes a sense of vulnerability and loneliness that implies a depth of character beyond simplistic evil.
